Catherine Thomas Kaplan

Catherine Thomas Kaplan, of Concord, NH, is a lifelong learner. She holds the following degrees:

• BA in art history (Wellesley College, 1989)

• MA in art education (Goddard College, 1998)

• Ed.M. in arts in education (Harvard University, 2013)

• MPS in data analytics and visualization (Maryland Institute College of Art, 2023)

• Certificate in natural science illustration (Rhode Island School of Design, 2023)

Catherine works primarily in pen and ink with colored pencil, and watercolor. Each year for the past 20 years, Catherine has designed calendars and note cards illustrated with flowers, fruits and vegetables (see Gallery for images).

During the school year, Catherine shares her love of science with elementary school students in grades 1 - 5 as a part of a district-wide science enrichment program (Project SEE) in Concord, NH.
